Bamboomania

Bamboomania is located at a Karen hill tribe village in North Thailand. The job opportunities and financial prospects for the tribal people are limited and there is a strong tendency especially among young people to look for jobs in the big cities. The main aim of Bamboomania is to create jobs and generate regular income. This is a chance for an independent, safe and long term income resource to improve their living circumstances. There are farmers that grow and harvest bamboo.

At the Bamboomania Centre there is a workshop where bamboo products are being produced. Villagers are being trained there so they can achieve a certain skill level ensuring the products are of good commercial quality. After their training they can manufacture these bamboo goods at their homes. The Bamboomania Centre is also a collecting point for buyers to place their orders.
