Bio Sand Water Filter (BSF)

Bio Sand Filters (BSF) are helping us to reach our aim of providing the villagers with the ability to process their own clean and safe drinking water, reducing sickness and improving life quality.

The Bio Sand Filters (BSF) was “invented” by an Canadian NGO (CAWST).

The filter system used is inexpensive, user friendly, and can provide a sustainable supply of safe drinking water without a reliance on electricity, chemicals or complicated training.

To make it work: just add water !

Our Bio Sand Filters are inexpensive and make a big impact in the communities we work with. The people are less sick, have fewer infections, less parasites (etc.) and therefore spend less money to go to doctors. This gives them more money to spend for their families and more time to work on their daily work. Moreover, the people who use such filter systems don’t have to boil their water anymore before drinking. This saves a lot of fire wood, thus, less deforestation (which is a major problem in the mountains of Thailand). In other words, such a Bio Sand Filter helps to save the environment and contributes to halting the global warming.
