For some of our projects we are looking for professional long term volunteers for three months or more. We do not expect you to be a superman or have all the knowhow. But we hope that with our combined efforts we can get ahead with the projects and learn in the process.

Office Administrator

Fundraising Volunteer

JOB DESCRIPTION:

- Assist the Director in developing a three-year fundraising strategy

- Set policies, priorities, and goals for fund-raising programs for the current fiscal year

- Identify and research potential funding opportunities

- Generate increased income from existing sources

- Review the ongoing performance of each fundraising project

- Identify and rate all major prospects for support

- Generate increased income from existing sources

- Develop proposals for projects that could attract new funding

- Establish links with other voluntary and statutory bodies

Your job is to secure additional funding to enable the continuing work of Raintree Foundation in its role as a provider of care facilities for vulnerable children and for Raintree Foundation’s water and community projects which enable the local farmers to prosper.

Volunteer Coordinator

We are looking for a Volunteer Coordinator to complete our team at the Chiang Mai office: 

JOB DESCRIPTION:

- Welcome volunteers when they arrive and help them to settle in hotel

- Introduce volunteers to their place of work and staff on site, give volunteers

  an extensive briefing

- Ensuring there is appropriate support and training for volunteers

- Building a rapport with the volunteers in the field

- Visit volunteers on a regular basis and spend time with them

- Undertake fun outings with volunteers, especially on weekends

- Communicate and liaise with other volunteers, staff and line manager

- Managing budgets and resources, including the reimbursement of expenses

- Monitoring, supporting, motivating and accrediting volunteers and their work

- Organize farewell for volunteers, debriefing and escort to the airport

- Generating appropriate volunteering opportunities and role descriptions based on the needs

  of the organization

Your job is to manage and assist volunteers and their relationship with those they come into contact with, including employees and service users. Furthermore to monitor, evaluate and accredit volunteers

REQUIREMENTS:

- Good interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships

- 1 year commitment

Bamboomania

To further develop our bamboo project we are looking for a committed volunteer to help us building bamboo furniture and products.

REQUIREMENTS:

- Some technical experience in wood crafting
- Ability to work independent in a remote hill tribe village
- Develop a product line and a catalogue with a cost calculation
- Cross-cultural understanding
- Ability to teach the local Bamboo Mania Team to develop their skills
- A carpentry background would be helpful

Karen Coffee

We are in the early stages of growing coffee and starting a plantation which should later become a demo farm and training center for hill tribe people. The goal is to produce the final product; green bean coffee.

REQUIREMENTS:

- Farming experience and “green” fingers
- Ability to work independent in a remote hill tribe village
- Cross-cultural understanding
- Ability to teach the local Karen Coffee Team to develop their skills
- Help to build a farm management system
- Agricultural or agronomic background would be useful
