Raintree Foundation received its first volunteer from AfID

2012-02-14 07:33 by David Luthi

AfID (Accounting for International Development) provides charities and NGOs with an impartial and completely free volunteer program designed specifically to develop the financial management capacity of small community organizations.
We at Raintree Foundation were privileged to have an certified accountant, Stephen, for three weeks. He helped us to reorganize our accounting system and offered us some much appreciated and needed input and solutions. Besides Stephens work at the office, he was able to visit Raintree’ children’s home Mae Na Chorn. For more information about Stephens experiences in Thailand you may visit Stephens blog. The Raintree Foundation would like to thank Stephen for his much valued service.

Donnation from the company FischerTechnik

2012-01-24 08:34 by David Luthi

In January we received 8 footballs from the company FisherTechnik from Germany. Even though football isn’t the Thai national sport, it is very popular in Thailand. Besides that, which boy or girl doesn’t like to play with a football. Such a ball can be used in many ways and there are no limits to children’s imaginations.

Thanks to the company FisherTechnik, our kids in the children homes Mae Na Chorn andMae Hae have new footballs to play with. A big thank you to the company FisherTechnik for their generous donation.

2012-01-20 07:05 by David Luthi

On January 18, 2012 her highness Princess Sirindhorn of Thailand visited the village “Ban Mai Pattana” in Ampher Mae Chaem.

We are proud to announce that one of our children from the Mae Na Chorn children’s homeand her team won the first price in the cooking competition of the northern region of Thailand. That was the reason, why her team was chosen to welcome her highness Princess Sirindhorn.

The Raintree Foundation would like to congratulate Preeda (the girl on the left) and her team for their success. Keep up the good work!
